Karen George, Associate Director

Karen has over 20 years of experience in rental car concessions business planning and operations, as well as 26 years of legal experience. Karen provides business planning and operations advisory services for the development of consolidated rental car facilities, implementation of CFCs, and redesign and implementation of rental car concession programs at numerous airports.
In 1988, Karen began her career in the car rental industry when she joined National Car Rental System as a property attorney responsible for airport locations in parts of the United States and Canada. In 1996, Karen was promoted to vice president and chief airports counsel. In that position, she was responsible for all National Car Rental System’s on- and off-airport lease and concession agreements for the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition to overseeing all major airport projects for National, Karen managed a legal staff of attorneys and paralegals, with a department operating budget of more than $1 million. Her airport consulting career began in 2001 when she left the rental car industry to assist airports with rental car issues.
Karen played a pivotal role in lengthy facility planning, contract negotiations, and financial planning for Dallas/Forth Worth International Airport’s Consolidated Rental Car Facility, where she participated in the design and drafting of a car rental common busing RFP, consortium agreements, and operating agreements. She served as chair of the Rental Car Committee during the project’s final year until the facility opened.
