Zoe Haseman, Associate Director

Zoe Haseman has over nine years of experience working in the sustainability field as both a consultant and, on the operations side, as the sustainability manager for a United Kingdom government department. Ms. Haseman brings a wealth of diverse experience from numerous sectors, as well as a new perspective from Europe on climate change and carbon management issues.
Since relocating to the United States in 2009, Zoe has been developing the Sustainability Practice Area for LeighFisher, and managing and contributing to a range of new sustainability projects. She is currently managing two projects with the Port Authority New York and New Jersey. These are funded through the FAA sustainability pilot program and will result in the development of a sustainability management plan for Newark Liberty International Airport and Teterboro, a general aviation airport. Both projects involve the following phases: inventory, development of a sustainability plan, implementation guidance, and sustainability reporting; they also involve extensive outreach and stakeholder coordination. Currently, Zoe is also a key team member on two Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) projects: Recycling Strategies for the Airport Industry (ACRP 02-15) and Primer on Carbon Credits and Revenue Opportunities for Airports (ACRP 11-02). In addition, Zoe is undertaking a number of airport energy related projects for Guam and Jackson-Evers international airport, among others.
Throughout 2010, Zoe contributed to a sustainable master plan update for Portland International Airport, reviewing the sustainability input, particularly focusing on the community stakeholder engagement process to ensure that the future of the airport is compatible with Portland’s sustainability objectives. The master plan update involved establishing sustainability criteria which were used to assess the alternatives and ensure sustainability was considered and integrated through all the stages of the master plan update.
