LeighFisher has been at the forefront of the UK's Private Finance Initiative/public-private partnership process, and has supported privately financed public sector projects throughout the world. We have a network of contacts at financial institutions and have served as the technical advisor to lenders on over 130 projects, including hospitals and health care facilities, housing, police accommodations.
When undertaking such projects, we use a risk-to-lenders approach. Key risk issues are identified, evaluated, and closed out efficiently. This process adds value to the project by avoiding the need for time-consuming discussions of detailed technical matters that have little or no effect on risk to the lenders. LeighFisher offers a diverse group of professionals and analysts who understand this risk-to-equity approach and that have experience in supporting complex deals while remaining focused on issues of primary importance to the lender. Many of the areas of analysis are common to all projects, including demand, cost, completion, and operational performance risks.
Our work does not conclude at the financial closing. LeighFisher is often retained to monitor the construction phase of projects and to provide long-term monitoring of the operational phase of projects. Our continuing support helps ensure that lenders' interests are protected throughout the life of their investments.
