AIRLINE TRAFFIC FORECASTS FOR FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES - INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SEOUL)

In 1998, the Incheon International Airport Corporation retained Leigh Fisher Associates to provide financial advisory services. As part of these services, Leigh Fisher Associates developed comprehensive forecasts of aviation activity at the planned Incheon International Airport. In preparing the forecasts, Leigh Fisher Associates took into account the expected future interaction between Incheon International Airport, under construction, and Kimpo International Airport in Seoul.

Leigh Fisher Associates met with representatives of the major airlines based in Korea and several other international airlines operating in the region. Meetings were also held with government ministers, tourism and trade development officers, and industry representatives.

Leigh Fisher Associates undertook a comprehensive "top-down/bottom-up" approach to forecasting, analyzing econometric models, airline service plans, and other external factors, including high-speed rail construction, international trade agreements, and tourism development. The future role of Incheon International Airport as an international hub in the region was extensively analyzed in comparison with other major airport hubs.
