Featured Project
Royal Air Force Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility
Location: UK
LeighFisher provided technical advisory services to this major Private Finance Initiative funded project to design, build, operate, and maintain a new aircrew training facility for the RAF’s Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew. The Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility provides training facilities for Chinook, Merlin Mk3, and Puma aircraft. The Facility enables helicopter pilots to train on simulators thus cutting down the number of hours needed for training, while, at the same time, allowing pilots to practice more hazardous maneuvers impossible to undertake in real flight training. The Facility comprises six full motion dynamic flight simulators, a Computer-Based Training Facility, and a new building accommodating the Training Service.
Prior to financial close, through technical and commercial due diligence, we provided a technical and commercial risk assessment of the preferred bidder’s proposal on behalf of the funders. After financial close, we are providing monitoring and reporting to the funders on the establishment and operation of the Facility as the lenders technical advisor. This includes evaluation of the multiple changes to the Training Facility to accommodate changes in aircraft configuration requiring parallel development of the simulators.
- The Facility is a state-of-the art training facility for the Defence sector
- Our services were provided pre- and post-financial close and constitute a wide range of technical and commercial due diligence and risk assessment services
